Benjamin Huger Read, married Mary Julia Middleton of Charleston and Middleton Place. They had four children, Oliver Middleton Read, Benjamin Huger Read, Emily Ann Read and Susan Chisholm Read. Mr Read owned Rice Hope during the War Between the States.
